Open source

The engine is open. Read the code behind every claim.

Moteur’s engine, API, command line, MCP server and client are MIT-licensed, on GitHub and npm. Read it, run it, extend it. Moteur Cloud adds the Studio and the services around it.

Claims on this site

In the engine:packages/core/src/reviews.ts:98-106

function assertReviewerOrAdmin(user: User): void {
    if (!canReview(user)) {
        const err = new Error(
            user.agent?.reviewOnly
                ? 'An agent can’t approve or reject reviews: a person does.'
                : 'Only users with reviewer or admin role can perform this action'
        );
        (err as Error & { statusCode: number }).statusCode = 403;
        throw err;

A review-only agent fails the reviewer check, and the refusal says why in plain words.

    Use it, change it, build client sites on it and sell them. Keep the licence notice.

    • Each package carries its licence
    • No usage restrictions

Questions about open source

An agency owner asksCan we build and sell client sites on the engine?

MoteurYes. It’s MIT: use it, change it and sell what you build, as long as the licence notice stays.

A developer asksIs the Studio open source?

MoteurNo. The web Studio comes with Moteur Cloud. The engine, the API, the command line, MCP and the client are open.

A CTO asksIs Moteur Cloud a different engine?

MoteurNo. It runs the same engine, with the Studio and private plugins around it: AI help, live collaboration, billing, storage and video.

A developer asksCan we contribute?

MoteurYes. The repository is on GitHub, with a contributing guide and a test suite that runs on every change.
